Hollywood CA (Social Dragon PR) July 22, 2015. The anticipation was high outside Cerritos Performing Arts on July 11, 2015 before 8PM, Noli Me Tangere The Musical returns in Los Angeles, where Dr. Jose Rizal’s legacy bringing to life and the music from legendary Ryan Cayabyab.
Curtains opening: speech from the producer of the show Teatro Pilipino USA, First Act was really dark then the whole casts started singing in crescendo like style and building the momentum.
The most memorable characters were Crisostomo Ibarra played by Miguel Vera, a multi-talented singer/recording artist. Miguel Vera’s performance was amazing amazing plus his portayal was believable. Sisa’s portrayal was dramatic tear jerker and made me laugh out loud.
A charming Maria Clara with vocal prowess and the ability to command each musical numbers with heart and soul.
Kapitan Tiago’s performance with excellent vocal plus unexpected serious and very funny moments througout the duration of the musical.
The famous couple played by Nepomuceno and Garcia were extremely funny and it adds the life of the musical and unforgeatable moments . In addition, the entire casts were talented from dancing to vocals. – MJ Racadio of #USPressAssociation

Born and raised in Hawaii, Pauline Wilson is an American Jazz singer. Wilson was the lead vocalist in the group Seawind from the 1970’s to the early 80’s. In addition, she won a Grammy Award for Best Recording Children in 1979 for her duet “Friends”, with George Benson. Furthermore, she has also released several other solo albums, a duo album with Bob Wilson, and has toured with several other bands in the US, the Philippines, and other Asian countries.
Secondly, meet legendary pop icon, Louie Reyes. Reyes is best known as one of the new Minstrels. A Trio who performed in front of Filipino and foreign audiences. Also, Two of her famous songs was in the Metro Manila Popular Music Festival, “Nothing I want more” and “Falling in Love Again” with Eugene Villaluz.
Thirdly, meet Ner De Leon, a musician, an artist, and a record producer. Most notably, De Leon is a Contemporary Jazz Saxophonist. He has released three albums and collaborated with other established artists such as Sheryn Regis, Cherice Pempengco, Marco Sison, etc…More importantly, He is one of the first Filipino-American to perform in the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California. Not to mention, De Leon was one of the Featured artists for Gentlemen of Jazz in the Jazzmopolitan concert.
Last but not least, meet Tateng & Boy Katindig. The sons of legendary saxophonist, Eddie Katindig.
Tateng and Boy inherited their musical chops from their father. Both are considered Jazz prodigies. Tateng is considered one of the best pianists in Las Vegas with his trio. Moreover, Boy is an established drummer for an international cruise ship. In their own rights, they all made a name for themselves, including their brother Henry.

A ‘PASTICHE’ OF MUSIC BLENDS CLASSICAL COMPOSITIONS
WITH TRADITIONAL PHILIPPINE LOVE SONGS
(July, 2015 – Los Angeles, CA.) The worlds of classical music and Philippine kundimans harmoniously collide in a special evening of music that presents Philippine-born international pianist Rudolf Pelaez Golez in concert. “Pastiche: An Evening of Classics and Kundimans” features Golez on the instrument that made him the sole prizewinner at the First ASEAN Chopin International Piano Competition, along with concert cellist prodigy Matthew John Ignacio and the gentlemen of Prime Note Ensemble, the chorale group formed in Saudi Arabia who now call the U.S. their home.
Golez is one of the Philippines’ youngest piano virtuosos today. He was a featured soloist at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Filipino Young Artists Series and has played with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and the Manila Symphony Orchestra. His solo concerts feature a rich and varied repertoire of classical and contemporary periods in piano literature. Currently, Golez serves as the Vice-President for External and Cultural Affairs of Liceo de Cagayan University and is on the faculties of both the Philippine Women’s University and Cebu Normal University.
Joining Golez as special guests are Matthew John Ignacio, the prodigy cellist who is also proficient on the piano and accordion, who is a student at the Colburn School, one of the most prestigious conservatories for music as well as the performing arts in the nation. Most recently, Ignacio performed as a special guest of Andrea Morricone, the award winning Italian composer, at Morricone’s concert at the Broad Theater. Ignacio has performed in concert along with his fellow students and colleagues in many concerts. Also part of the evening’s program is Prime Note Ensemble, the chorale group established in Saudi Arabia who have performed across the world and in the U.S. in many choir competitions. They have been guests at Carnegie Hall and have also performed at the famed Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Music Center.
The night’s repertoire will include both classical pieces – Beethoven, Mozart, etc. – as well as renditions of traditional and contemporary “kundimans” (Filipino love songs). “It’s an honor to have Rudolf Golez come to perform in Los Angeles,” said Executive Producer Mercedes Martin. “I knew the first time I heard him play, that I just had to share his talent with the ‘kababayans’ here in Los Angeles.” Nimfa A. Bemis, the show’s producer exclaimed “I’m very excited to present these artists and I cannot wait to see what Rudolf and Matthew are going to present when they perform together and to hear the songs that PNE and Rudolf will be serenading the audience!”
The concert doubles as a fundraiser for Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (S.I.P.A.), one of Los Angeles’ oldest community based organizations that delivers direct social services to the Filipino-American community living in Historic Filipinotown and in Los Angeles. MJ: What are the challenges to make the musicals
Production Team: Casting was a challenge because mostly Fil-Ams could hardly speak tagalog, most cast has day jobs, practically we rehearse in the weekends.
Miguel Vera said his been a stage actor before recording artist.
MJ: This is your second year to portray Crisostomo Ibarra. What preparation do you have for the character?
Miguel Vera as Crisostomo Ibarra: No preparations at all but I need to be fit physically and mentally for the character because this is very demanding role.
MJ: How do you take care of your voice?
Miguel Vera: a lot of sleep.
Noli Me Tangere: The Musical will indeed brings the history back to life, legacy by Dr. Jose Rizal.
