(Manila, Philippines) January 20, 2017. a very friendly person, fashionable, and down-to-earth, Kirsten Regalado, an international fashion designer from Miami, Florida. Meeting Kirsten was a blast in Los Angeles during Binibining Pilipinas USA on August, 2015 and everyone says the rest is history. Kirsten asked ” would you like to meet Lilimar? I responded, “Sure, who is she? little did I know, she was teen superstar of Nickelodeon in Hollywood T.V. and blown away with her charm and humbleness in person.

DESCRIPTION OF MISS UNIVERSE MAURITIUS’ COSTUME
The multi-colored costume which showcases the Seven Colored Earth of Chamarel in country of Mauritius consists of three elements: headdress, cape and 3-piece gown.
The headdress made of red fabric petals represents the volcanic eruption and also the flora of Mauritius after the volcanic eruption.

The detachable cape made of ecofabric material is hand painted to show the volcano on the outside of the cape and then the volcanic eruption inside. (The cape opens up to 114 by 114 inches).
The three piece custom made gown is made of different materials. The upper gown is covered with recycled corded red lace and sewn with sequins for sparkle. The upper gown reflects the colors of the lava from the volcanic eruption.
The pencil skirt is made of recycled corrugated cardboard boxes, cut into diamond shape and the floor sweeping trail is covered with 1,300 pcs of recycled clear plastic cups and paper mache’ painted to show the hilly and amazing Seven Colored Earth of Chamarel in the island of Mauritius. Chamarel was chosen for its unique and colorful visual appeal which will surely entice visitors to flock to Mauritius once they see it.
It is worth noting that 4 children from La Consolacion College, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental Philippines including an orphan child helped work with the costume with fashion designer Kirsten Regalado.

Mauritius representing , the Seven Colored Earth(s)[1] (Terres des Sept Couleurs in French) are a geological formation and prominent tourist attraction found in the Chamarel plain in south-western Mauritius. It is a relatively small area of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colors (approximately red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow). The main feature of the place is that since these differently colored sands spontaneously settle in different layers, dunes acquire a surrealistic, striped coloring.
