(Hollywood, California) May 12, 2018 . Meeting John Ablaza for almost three years now, one thing I learned from him was humility and hard-work. It’s true because Mr. Ablaza stay grounded for over 30 years in the fashion industry. He has been constantly promoting the Philippines through fashion by using indigenous materials and helping local communities to uplift their lives by giving them livelihood and helping the less fortunate from Cebu to Africa. Now this time, giving back to the fashion industry by empowering models, photographers, make-up artists, artisans and future fashion designers. This coming May he will collaborating with world-renown photographer, Filbert Kung (Miss Universe, International Magazines).
According to John “Collaborating with Filbert will definitely help young models in how to do posing and learning the photography industry in general so I encourage the people who would like to know more about the modelling industry.” In addition this coming June, John Ablaza’s New Campaign will be launched as Nature and Nurture.

A revelation of Le Petite Couture

(May 23, 2017) After 30 years in the fashion industry, Philippines’ First eco-couture designer John Ablaza, there is no sign of slowing down. Before flying to New York, he spent many hours in creating those mini-couture collection. In May 20, 2017, Ablaza finally revealed the Le Petite Couture during 30 years behind-the-seams at the Amar Estate.
Ablaza said “I am really proud to present to the world my ” Le Petite Couture ” a collection of about 30 pcs miniature Couture Gowns done 90 percent by hand in 100 days.
I am dedicating this creation to women who matters and each piece will be named after those whose been a part of my 30 seamless and very challenging journey in fashion. This is also my humble contribution to the fashion industry. Will eventually launch this as a traveling exhibit that I intend to showcase in important cities around the world.”
Most fashion shows focuses in Glamour however, John Ablaza 30 years behind the seams more on the charity, whom Ablaza close to his heart especially the less fortunate communities from Zimbabwe to Kenya.
Apart from this, the people who made the fashion show possible were the organizers, models, photographers, media, volunteers, make-up artist, sponsors. Meeting Kirsten was a blast in Los Angeles during Binibining Pilipinas USA on August, 2015 and everyone says the rest is history. Kirsten asked ” would you like to meet Lilimar? I responded, “Sure, who is she? little did I know, she was teen superstar of Nickelodeon in Hollywood T.V. and blown away with her charm and humbleness in person.

DESCRIPTION OF MISS UNIVERSE MAURITIUS’ COSTUME
The multi-colored costume which showcases the Seven Colored Earth of Chamarel in country of Mauritius consists of three elements: headdress, cape and 3-piece gown.
The headdress made of red fabric petals represents the volcanic eruption and also the flora of Mauritius after the volcanic eruption.
The detachable cape made of ecofabric material is hand painted to show the volcano on the outside of the cape and then the volcanic eruption inside. (The cape opens up to 114 by 114 inches).
The three piece custom made gown is made of different materials. The upper gown is covered with recycled corded red lace and sewn with sequins for sparkle. The upper gown reflects the colors of the lava from the volcanic eruption.
The pencil skirt is made of recycled corrugated cardboard boxes, cut into diamond shape and the floor sweeping trail is covered with 1,300 pcs of recycled clear plastic cups and paper mache’ painted to show the hilly and amazing Seven Colored Earth of Chamarel in the island of Mauritius. Chamarel was chosen for its unique and colorful visual appeal which will surely entice visitors to flock to Mauritius once they see it.
It is worth noting that 4 children from La Consolacion College, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental Philippines including an orphan child helped work with the costume with fashion designer Kirsten Regalado.
Mauritius representing , the Seven Colored Earth(s) (Terres des Sept Couleurs in French) are a geological formation and prominent tourist attraction found in the Chamarel plain in south-western Mauritius. It is a relatively small area of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colors (approximately red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow). The main feature of the place is that since these differently colored sands spontaneously settle in different layers, dunes acquire a surrealistic, striped coloring.

The event started with photo exhibit of award-winning photographer Jhenny Morales and red carpet arrivals with respected VIP’s and sponsors. The hosts of the evening were Marvic Chan and Maita Lockhart. The fashion show starts right on time and showcasing the latest collection of John Ablaza plus chosen designer from Zimbabwe, Yvette Ndaba.

John Ablaza High-end fashion designer like no other

Hollywood, California (November 29, 2016) High-end fashion is all about glamour, beauty and sophistication although there is one designer who can change the perspective of fashion. His name is John Ablaza, Philippines first eco-couture designer, he has been in the fashion design industry for over 29 years but what really sets him apart is the way he collaborated with individuals from other local designers to photographers. For example, he recently had a successful collaborations with local artisans in Zimbabwe, which aims to educate future designers in making sustainable materials yet elegant. According to John, he enjoyed Zimbabwe because they welcomed him with open-arms led by Mithi Aquino-Thomas, the wife of US Ambassador Harry Thomas of Harare. He added “I enjoyed hanging-out with the young kids at the village, it’s worth every time spent there”. In addition, John would like to continue his legacy by helping others through his advocacy.
His new designs will be featured during couture & culture fashion show on December 10, 2016 at the One UN New York Hotel in New York City along with selected VIP Guests, that will benefit Zimbabwe collaboration (Benefiting the children of Silozwane, Bulawayo). His name is Glenn Gonzales and indeed taking fashion by storm. Gonzales jump-start his career from Project Runway Philippines to Celebrities on the red carpet. Let’s go back to the memory lane, Glenn as young designer, he strive to become a professional one. Fortunately, Project Runway Philippines open doors for him and the rest is history.
GCouture by Glenn Gonzales was born on January 2012, from designing couture gowns to men’s suit at his atelier. Ranging from wedding clients to celebrities like Snooky Serna, DJ Alvaro, and the sisters.
