Many young and upcoming actors, enter show business for the wrong reasons but there is one actor, who honed his skills, Dene Gomez, theater actor, and successful commercial model during the teenage years. As seen on T.V. “Ang Probinsyano” plays the character Ramon Gonzales, who is a family man and cannot pay his debt so the collateral in exchange for the daughter’s being kidnapped.
I have met Dene from veteran theater actor Bobby Martino. He’s friendly, smart, and respectful. Aside from being an actor, Gomez also a professional as an entrepreneur and athlete on the side. The Philippines’ new drama prince because of his high-caliber acting portrayal alongside Coco Martin, primetime drama king in the Philippines.

Dene has this to say about his acting mentor from both stage and TV who influenced him so much, Bobby Martino., “Whenever he is acting, the first word to leave his mouth, I always get chills. I want to have that magic one day.”
Dene also gives credit to everyone whom he encountered in life for contribution to his acting technique. According to Dene, “I am a combination of all people around me. Aside from emulating celebrities on TV and film, I also observe people on the streets and in normal situations.”
Acting is your dream? “Yes, recently. But looking back from when I started the year 2004, the answer is no. My motivation during those early years was just to get famous and get rich. It was only last July 2018 when I realized that I dig acting. It gives me tremendous happiness, regardless of medium, pays, or exposure. The mere art of portraying a role and moving at least 1 person in the audience is more than enough for my soul.“
Dene’s dream role is a low-key lead character with several layers of the back story underneath. “I always wanted to show strength with restraint. Just like the character of Ethan Hawke on the “Before” trilogy. Just marvelous.”
Gomez experience working on the set of ”Ang Probinsyano”, “Everyone is at the top of their game. It’s the highest rating show among all networks for the whole of 2019. Everyone is performing excellently: from the staff to the directors, to the stuntmen, and the actors. Thus, I keep telling myself whenever I’m on set, “Must adapt fast and be snappy”.”
His piece of advice in becoming an actor. “Thick skin. Assertiveness. Authenticity. Unlimited Patience with People’s Differences. And 10,000 hours of practice, pressured and culture-shocked.
Finally, he always makes sure getting enough sleep before taping day because once the camera rolls, everything becomes a blur with the production’s fast-paced operation.
