4th Impact – Their 1st Interview in the USA and The Dreamers

By Mark Daniels
On Saturday April 25th, 2020, 4th Impact made their 1st interview appearance in the United States on Blogtalk Hollywood, with Host MJ Racadio and Co-Host Mark Daniels (aka: DJ M).

The purpose of the interview was to introduce 4th Impact to a new audience within the United States, and to promote their 1st original song K(no)w More.
It was a special interview as 4th Impact opened up and shared their thoughts and feelings on many topics.
To commerate the fact that this was 4th Impact’s 1st interview in the USA with Blogtalk Hollywood, the interview also included questions from their Patreon account, submitted by the fans of 4th Impact who are affectionately known as Dreamers.
4th Impact is a singing group of 4 sisters: Almira, Irene, Mylene, and Celina Cercado.
They began their singing career in 2001.
The girls were singing anywhere they could, and as the years went by they also performed in many competitions.
4th Impact (formerly known as 4th Power, changed their group name due to copyright reasons), rose to fame in 2015 when at the suggestion of a fan they tried out for X-Factor UK.
They made it to the finals and became known throughout Europe and in many parts of the world, including the United States.
The debut video of the 4th Impact on X-Factor UK has reached over 160 million views at the time of this article.
4th Impacts YouTube Channel currently has over 500K Subscriptions.
The girls began the interview on Blogtalk Hollywood by talking about how they were trying to make the best of the quarantine during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Almira shared that with the quarantine in place in the Philippines, she was taking the opportunity to practice more.
Celina added that they were focusing on building their Patreon account, working out and staying fit and healthy.
While laughing Almira shared that her dog Chanel had just given birth to 6 puppies (5 boys and 1 girl) and they had stayed up the previous night until 4am in the morning.
Celina stated “I’m the editor for the vlogs…for now.  I spend more time now with my puppies because every time we have a gig we are so busy we don’t have time to take care of them, so now I put more of my time to play with them and feed them.”
Later in the interview, Mylene discussed something that she loves to do in her free time.
“I love to cook…and I love to eat,” Mylene said laughing.
“She (Mylene) has this specialty.. in LA.”  Irene said, “the boiling crabs.  So delicious. Like the spicy shrimp.”
“Irene is good with Korean dishes,” Almira admitted.
When talking about how 4th Impact came up with the sound for their 1st original single K(no)w More, and who influenced them, Irene had this to say, “We have a lot of influences, but we focused on our own story.”
Laughing Mylene said, “Our own makeup story.”
Irene then added,  “We wanted to deliver 4th Impact sound in this original song which is somewhat like’ Bang, Bang’ with the harmonies.  Actually, we were so nervous that people will not like it because people would be expecting a ballad.”
Almira agreed. “And they would have a high expectation of us.”
Now that 4th Impacts 1st original song ‘K(no)w More’ has been released, the girls took a moment to reflect on their journey from 2001 up until this moment.
Irene thoughtfully had this to say about their journey, “Actually there are sometimes that um..we as 4th Impact we really have time to talk about our dreams and our goals in life, and whenever we look back, we see ourselves like we have achieved a lot already in this time, since 2001, and we can’t believe that everything had happened after a lot of challenges we have encountered in life.”
Almira had this to say about their emotions during their journey to this point:  “Talking about emotions, I think we were very emotional as sisters.
We always cry in all our interviews as you can see.
And looking back from here, having our own song which is independently released from our family and from the friends and those fans who have supported us, it’s been a big challenge.
And sometimes we were laughing and crying at the same time.
We were like where are we going now?
When we look back where we started as simple kids from Isabella without nothing but just dreams, we were kinda like ‘ Hey this is it,’ because from the rock bottom and now we are here and the Dreamers are looking up to us, and they said they were inspired by us and we feed on that and we take that as inspiration to move forward and never stop.”
Irene said “And just like Mylene always tells us, that life is improving. Life is changing.  We are just so grateful for all the blessing were are receiving.”
“We are so grateful for all of our Dreamers also,” said Mylene.
A week prior to the interview, members of 4th Impacts Patreon account were asked if they would like to ask 4th Impact a question, to submit their questions to the Patreon account or to the host of Blogtalk Hollywood: MJ Racadio and/or Co-host Mark Daniels (aka:DJ M).
The love and support by the fans (Dreamers) of 4th Impact became very evident the week leading up to the interview.
Both MJ Racadio and Mark Daniels were bombarded by countless messages by the Dreamers.
Many messages from the Dreamers were touching and heartwarming, while countless more were showing love, prayers, and support for 4th Impact.
Many Dreamers opened up to share their personal stories about 4th Impact, while a few shared how the group had gotten them through their own struggles and challenges. So many more shared their hopes and dreams for the future of 4th Impact. Peter, a longtime Dreamer from the USA shared “I’ve been a Dreamer since that faithful night in 2015 on X-Factor UK.  I’ve been a supporter of them ever since.”
Kimball Miller had one of the most commonly stated thoughts from the Dreamers when he shared “I hope we can get them to come to the USA for a show.  I love these girls.”
After the interview aired, Harold Kelly offered a deeper explanation as to why the Dreamers were so happy to play an active part and being asked to share their thoughts and ask questions as part of the interview.
“I wanted to thank you for asking my question (during the interview). Not just because I felt like part of the Dreamer Nation, but because you (MJ and Mark) provided what was missing.
When they were in the UK for X-Factor, we Dreamers that knew them before that show, and the Dreamers from the Philippines were not able to vote or voice our support because the way X-Factor works it only allows voting from within the UK.  So we were hurt and we felt left out.  By including the Dreamers voices, questions, and feelings as a part of your interview you filled that void.”
And now with their Patreon account, 4th Impact has found a way to still perform and more directly connect with their fans in a personal way.
When asked about their fans, lovingly referred to as Dreamers, Irene said,  “Actually we were debating what name we will choose for our fans, our supporters.”
Almira added, “When we started on X-Factor UK we are 4th Impact, we wanted to call them 4th Impactors.
We debate on words like that.”
Laughing Mylene added  “Impactors!!!”
With a big smile, Almira continued “We based it on us who are also Dreamers, and we ended up calling them Dreamers.”
“Because I think 4th Impactors is kinda funny to hear it,” Irene said.
Almira shared “What is special for me is I spend my spare time reading because the Dreamers send me a lot of music business books.”
“It is really inspiring,” agreed Irene.
Almira agreed and continued, “Yes, I really learned a lot because this is what we really wanted.  This is our passion.  So I would think being the oldest it’s my responsibility too because we are working with a lot of people in the future.  So this quarantine time is a good time to learn something new about the craft we are working on.”
Irene nodded “She (Almira) is getting smarter and smarter, and she is sharing it to us,  like…”
With a mischievous twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face, Mylene quickly added: “Like.. she is getting smarter …and getting fatter!”
With that comment, all the girls burst into laughter.
When it comes to the hard work that goes into the complex arrangements when recording a cover of a song that 4th Impact releases on their Youtube page ‘4th Impact Music’ Irene revealed, “It depends on the content that we are doing.  Usually if its a song cover, we practice it for 3 days, then record it. And then Celina or Kuya Jake will edit it. And then we upload it.”
Almira said “So overall the average is 1 week.”
“But the simple Vlog is the easiest.”  Added Celina.
Looking towards the future Almira said “It is one of our dreams to collaborate with international artists, as well as artists here in the Philippines.  So given the opportunity, we’d really love to.”
One of the most common questions submitted by the Dreamers for the interview was when the 4th Impact will release their 1st full album?
Almira replied, “We are trying our best to finish it for next year. We are trying to get more songs to finish the whole album.”
Lots of hits, doing live music, and a world tour was also some more of the future goals of 4th Impact in the next 5 years.
But there was one goal that stood out that was very special and close to the hearts of 4th Impact.
“One of our visions,” said Almira, “is to have a performing arts school here in the Philippines.”
“We wanted to help those young people like us” added Irene.
“Because when we competed in Korea before (2014)” continued Almira, “in SSK6 we remembered how the Government supports the K-Pop system and they have this school, and they have this room where you can just stay there and just sing and just practice and I think the Philippines need to have more of that. So we are praying for that.”
At the conclusion of the interview 4th impact had the following dedication to make to all the Dreamers before singing ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon:
Irene:  “We just want to encourage all the people around the world, especially the Dreamers, that let’s hope that everything will be fine again, and through this song, we can touch your hearts and uplift your spirits.”
Almira: “During this trying time we especially want to take this opportunity to thank all the Dreamers from the bottom of our hearts.
Because sometimes we can see some of the comments.  They said they’ve been worried about us in our situation here in the Philippines because as performers we have affected also of this situation.  We were very grateful for your care and for your heartwarming support for our music.  So thank you very much.”
After the interview, 4th Impact went on their Patreon account and conducted a live video feed where they thanked the Dreamers for their overwhelming love, participation, and support in relation to the interview on Blogtalk Hollywood.
Almira had this special message for all the Dreamers: “Always remember Dreamers, the reason why we are not giving up is because of you. Only you guys. Only you.”
Mylene became inspired and the girls decided to ask the Dreamers to submit their messenger id’s and they would start randomly calling Dreamers who are members of the Patreon account to talk to them.
And all 4 girls of 4th Impact spent the next hour doing just that.
Reaching out, calling and speaking directly with their Dreamers, sharing jokes, laughter, and heartfelt words and sincere thank you’s for their constant love and support.
Something like this experience between artists and fans is a very beautiful, touching, and inspiring thing to see.

With their heartfelt and amazing vocals, individually and in harmony with each other, their amazing talent and drive, along with the incredible bond, love, and support of their family, and of Dreamers around the World, 4th Impact has an amazing career and future ahead of them.

When Celebrity Beauty Expert meets Miss Universe

by MJ Racadio

Los Angeles, California (September 05, 2018) When it comes to beauty there is one name who stands out, her name is Olivia Quido-Co also known as Ms. O, a celebrity beauty expert from Los Angeles, California. Her impressive lists of clientele include Pia Wurtzbach, (Miss Universe 2015), Ruffa Gutierrez, (Moviestar/Host/Model) and KC Concepcion (Actress, Singer/Model), Megan Young (Miss World 2013), Boy Abunda (Asia’s King of Talk) and so on. I had a chance to meet Ms. O in person during Summer Beauty Bonanza last July 20, 2018 in Daly City, California along with her brand ambassadors, Pia Wurtzbach and Daniel Matsunaga.

Getting-to-know the real Ms.O, recently interviewed via over the phone. Let’s find out.

MJ: Who is Ms. O as a person?

Ms. O: I’m a fun person, God fearing, I love people and passionate about making people look good.

MJ: What are your hobbies?

Ms. O: I love playing the piano, arts and crafts, actually that’s my favorite bonding-time with my daughter and I love watching concerts.

According to Ms. O, she plays the piano by ear and does not have not any formal training in music. “I listen to the music and then I play it right away.”

MJ: What inspired you to become a beauty-expert?

Ms. O– First, “I studied computer programming in De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Business Administration major in computer application. In addition, I designed the computer system of the business to become paperless. Since I arrived in States, wanted to follow my passion in facial because I love people and helping them to look beautiful.” Unfortunately,  Ms. O realized that computer programming was not her passion.

Apart from her passion, running a spa was quite challenging especially in exceeding client’s expectation. For example, her clients stated “Ms. O I would like to look 10-15 years younger”. Ms. O said “I am blessed with a good team and it’s hard to find trained and experienced aesthetician and it would take a year or two in becoming an expert so I dedicate my time to train them” In a nutshell, once the team is ready he or she can do the O signature facial.”

Celebrity Clientele

Her advice to follow her footsteps, “if you like skin care so can follow your passion and do something to help many people. For example giving treatment, healing their acne and it boost their self-confidence and always put God’s first in everything that you do, so your plan will succeed.”

Ms. O– I want people to see my fun side. Usually, I’m very professional and love going out with my family and blessed with four beautiful children and a very nice husband. I want my clients to be my friends and I do not want just a client. I want them to be part of the family. I am so happy with my team and doing skin care for 15 years. I am very grateful to my clientele not only as client but good friendship.
