Blogtalk 4th year Celebration from covering David Guetta to interviewing Golden Globe Awards Executive Producer.
After four years of hard-work and perseverance, Blogtalk with MJ Racadio produced hundreds of inspiring episodes, from podcasting to live broadcasting (vlogcasting) and one-on-one interviews. I have no idea this blogging thing evolve by itself and brought me to red carpet in Hollywood to high profile events like Miss Universe and covering David Guetta’s concert in Manila. It all began in my bedroom last April 2014, I’m sharing this information in how to become a successful blogger. Here are five things you need to know from experience.
Know your passion and vision. First, you need to know what you wanted do and know you’re purpose. For example, blogging about the fashion industry, think about what ways to do it by reading and emulating other fashion bloggers and observe fashion shows and you go from there and how you will inspire others with your vision. Importantly you should know how to use the social media in your advantage. Later on in my other blog, I will discuss branding.
Positive thinking and being pro-active. Second, thinking positive is the key for you to go on no matter what the barriers in pursuing what you love whether it be blogging about food or travel. Keep in mind that being pro-active is also as important being positive because allows you to keep moving forward despite negativity around you and keeping track goals in a daily basis.
Ask, if you are afraid to ask learn how to do it. Third, how would you know without asking, right? So, you need to asked if your target topic or subject to be part of your blog or vlog. Nothing to lose when you asked.
How to get response from an influential person. Fourth, here is the fun part, I have been rejected hundred times but there is one thing to share when I got the one big yes. One day, emailed an influential person to be part of my podcasting, she responded and said yes. I was shocked and blown away because I have written a short message and added his or her title next to their names. In addition, I made it clear about the time, date and purpose of the message.
How to be famous right away. This is my favorite because all you have to do is take a selfie or photo together with influential person and you will create the rub-off effect, which you needed credibility when starting a blog or vlog. People will trust you and you become that expert.
Fellow friends, hopefully this information just shared will help you get started in blogging, podcasting, vlogging world. The next blog will be branding.
Part 2:Little Show called #Blogtalk True Confessions of MJ Racadio
Season 2 |September 2014| Hollywood experienced were memorable with Janet Nepales (Hollywood Journalist) last August 2014 during Season 1 Finale. |Season 2 Premiere| Where Film maker meets The Bookman: amazing interviews with Philip Anthony of Alba Productions (Produced Dr. Tess Show & On Your Marc w/Marc Anthony Nicholas: 3rd Time Emmy Nominated Producer of The Talk). He was pleasant and answered all the questions with inspiring advice to youth. In addition, The Bookman of UCLA was indeed an inspiration interview because Michael Comaduran helped lower income family to invest in education, which is a set of book to educate young individuals from Math to Science courses.Unexpectedly, booking interviews was kinda challenging sometimes. Have to be consistent and persistent in contacting publicists and managers until they will agree on schedule. Luckily, was able to booked in advance for two months ahead of schedule. Imagine just to get a yes for one guest was already a challenge, all the more for the entire season especially prepping for pre and post productions; the questions, topics, and promos indeed. That’s why having correspondents can make a show easier indeed. Thanks to Pearl & Mariebeth for being persistent and hardworking individual. The most memorable interview for the month of September was Jim Paredes, kinda stars struck in a way because love listening to his music growing up as a teen in the Philippines. Can’t tell though over audio recordings. Anyhow, he was gracious enough to answer all questions. A very down-to-earth indeed. Lastly, he even tweeted his interviews over his 700K friends, wow! was in cloud 9. |Historical MIFAA (75 Most Influential Filipino Americans of 2014)| presented by MGR Records & #BlogtalkwithMJRacadio Since October is Fil-Am History Month so it’s appropriate to recognized and honor fellow Fil-Ams. Created this lists of people and did researched for almost two weeks. Originally released 50 but in a later time changed to 75 MIFA. The sole purpose of the lists was to unify Fil-Ams, recognized their contributions to society and community. Empower others. Surprisingly, the response were overwhelming after releasing the 75 MIFA of 2014, inbox from social network were buzzing in from New York to Hollywood. I said “is this really happening, wow! I did something cool to the community and bring them together. |Before making it to Hollywood| was able to interviewed most notable Fil-Ams such as Fritz Friedman (Veteran publicists of Sony Pictures)very down to earth person, inspiring, and really care about the community he said ” If I don’t believe or have confident in any of it, I don’t participate”; Dr. Tess was so humble and refreshing, cannot imagine she is America’s Favorite Dermatologist according to her “When home, I’m just Tess, a mother” Wow! She definitely an awesome good role model to young generation. Lastly, Ted Benito (Executive Director of Apl De Ap Foundation) was very gracious and fellow Manongs, private conversations were amazing and catch up with being Ilocanos, and his favorite food was Pinakbet. Definitely have something in common with Ted not only for the love of fellowmen rather inspire and empower them. Thanking him for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime to launch as celebrity Podcaster in Hollywood during Blood Ransom premiere. October 2014 |Hollywood Debut| One day, contacted a Hollywood MUA Maxitone, the Artist obliged to do an interview and thought its kinda cool to do it. Little did I know this MUA is very popular in Hollywood, credentials included BET, Golden Globes, Grammys and so on. Offered PR services so the MUA agreed and got invited in Hollywood to cover the event at The RedBurry Hotel in the heart of Hollywood. Witnessed the glitz and glamour but behind the scenes was a lot of work. Interviewing influential people in the red carpet was fun and nerve-wracking at the same time. Guess what? was able to re-connect with long time friend Esmeralda now she’s Mrs. Asian Las Vegas. 2014. Imagine never seen her since 2002 back in Vegas, as they say everything happened in Vegas Stays in Vegas definitely not our friendship though. She was still stunning despite having a kid, wow! So proud of her accomplishments. Another surprise! Janet & Ruben Nepales was at the event, the power couple of Hollywood Foreign Press Association, such a thrill to see them. Also met Hollywood Designer Alan Del Rosario and took selfie with him. Really had a blast mingled with VIP in the heart of Hollywood never in my wildest dream. Two women approached if I’m one of the Basco Brothers I said “no I’m covering the event.” MUA said you look like Hollywood Celebrity, “I said thank you” replied you should try acting, I replied “Really?” . Before The Hollywood Debut as Celebrity Podcaster Got invited by Andy Edralin of Filipino Press Club, a Press Conference of Blood Ransom in Glendale. The place was jam-packed with journalist and celebrities and awesome food. Finally met Ted Benito and offered something to drink so ordered mango juice. What a night of press and good company including Peter Gonzaga (Pacific Rim Video), Sthanlee Mirador (Hollywood Celebrity Photographer) and so on . By the way, was able to asked Anne Curtis (Filipino Super Star) a very cool questions. What can we expect from you in this movie? Anne Curtis “Something that you never seen before because never portrayed a vampire”. |Oh boy! Disaster| Before the Hollywood Premiere of Blood Ransom a lot of things happened. First, booking a hotel before the event was not a good idea. Second, the hotel it’s away from Hollywood. Third, arriving in the hotel was a disaster because the front desk refuse a service so completely canceled the reservation without valid reason. Fourth, dealing with the LA traffic was worst, at same time assistant calling hotel close to sunset blvd. Finally, the hotel was booked but I have only 30 minutes to get ready before checking in to the Hollywood Premiere. Wow! Thought wouldn’t able to make it. Oh boy! Never ever book a hotel again before any event in Los Angeles. What a surprised? to see my name next to Hollywood Red Carpet where all the Celebrity Walks & Interviews. From Blog Diaries to Red Carpet in Hollywood
A true confessions of MJ Racadio
A typical day, reading like a book worm and writing until my eyes turned red. This how I called it studying like no tomorrow. While in school for business, maintaining a good GPA was not a joke. Guess what? Drinking caffeine kept me awake or alert most of the time. The exciting and interesting part of the journey was writing and recording blog diaries to relieve stress kinda like a venting machine so to speak. Little did I know this confession turned into more serious matter.
Absolutely stunned, with the results of creating something bigger than I thought. Asked myself if can invite someone who are influential in any field, and interview them. Perhaps every audio recording serve as motivation or inspiration whomever can listen to my little podcasting. First ever episode focused on how to stay fit with special guest from Singapore her name was Charissa,(Fitness Mentor/Nurse) the feedback was good. Just kept going, invited more guests within a week of May this year. Most invitations obliged to be part of the show. Kinda overwhelmed with all the responses imagine influential people said yes to invitations in a matter of days or better in few hours.
From Broadway PR to Hollywood journalist, the producer of the Talk and Billboard Charts Producer. Decided to create a simple vision which is empower, inspire, and one person at a time. The most exciting part was meeting people whom I’ve interviewed. Kinda like a dream, first encounter with influential people in Hollywood was amazing experienced. In particular, Janet Nepales was warmed and very personable. We went to a coffee shop by Los Angeles Financial District, the funny part was when the barista misspelled her name to Shannon, we were laughing out loud. She said “Why you all dressed up” replied “I’m going to do some interview with you to celebrate Season 1 of #Blogtalk”. Told her would like to celebrate it with her. Surprisingly, toured me around downtown and took me to a very nice Italian Restaurant. The place packed with people, the hostess sat us down in her usual seating. Felt like I was a celebrity that day because Janet only interviews the biggest movie star on the planet. Spending time with her really made my show credibility went off the roof. After two months, Season 2 of #Blogtalk,
It’s been 4 months of being a professional stalker lol! Let me tell you the real story behind #Blogtalk with #MJRacadio, it all started from recording blog diary because of boredom & needed to vent so to speak. It came to my attention, why don’t I create a show or invite influential people to inspire others through live interviews. Ironically, extremely surprised when all invitations were replied with big yes! do you wanna know my secret ? I just asked them that’s it!& the rest is history :-). Anyhow my sister said “Your #Blogtalk is interestingly funny”. Little did I know, this #Blogtalk is getting a lot buzz lately & couldn’t imagine the Hollywood Foreign Press Association member Janet Susan Rodriguez Nepales said “You’ve gone so far in a little time” as well as Emmy Nominated Producer of #TheTalk Marc Anthony Nicolas said “I like what your doing & wishing you nothing but success. Congrats! On your Season 2”. Still can’t believe that I went to Hollywood and celebrated Season 1 Finale of the show. Moving forward, Season 2 would be interesting one because of variety of influential people from Film Maker to Make-up Artist & Talent Manager to Interpreter. In addition, new logo will be up soon!, new give aways, and open for advertising because of its global appeal powered by Soundcloud it’s free from smartphones. Season 2 of #Blogtalk with #MJRacadio premiering September 07, 9PM PST/6PM EST http://soundcloud.com/mjracadio
